An experimental modification of the new Volkswagen Taos crossover has been released in the United States.
Volkswagen North America has developed an experimental Taos Basecamp. The car was released in a single copy, but it gives an idea of the future equipment for the new crossover.
It differs from the standard car Volkswagen Taos Basecamp with an upgraded suspension with increased ground clearance, silver protective plates of the lower part of the body, wheel arch extensions and off-road tires.
In addition, the crossover was equipped with a roof rack and additional LED lighting elements. The salon has not undergone significant changes, however, a special lattice section appeared there for attaching various special equipment using carabiners, including climbing equipment.
North American sales of the new Volkswagen Taos will kick off in June. In the US, the crossover will be available with an uncontested 1.5-liter petrol turbo engine developing 160 hp. and 249 Nm of torque. The front-wheel drive version is equipped with an eight-speed automatic, and with a full one – a seven-speed robot with two clutches. Taos prices start at $ 22,995.
