Volkswagen has unveiled the new generation Lamando for the Chinese market. This model has been produced since 2014 by the SAIC-VW joint venture. After the generation change, the car moved to a new platform and turned into a real liftback. Prior to this, the car was a medium-sized sedan. In addition, the name of the model has also changed to Lamando L.
The second generation Lamando has got optics in the style of the German electric cars ID. family. The liftback also received sports bumpers, a raised hood and a large air intake. In addition, the car was equipped with frameless doors and a wide grille.
In the interior of the car, a digital dashboard was installed, which is visually combined with the screen of the multimedia system. The liftback was equipped with a rear-view camera, a projection display and a panoramic sunroof.
The novelty was built on the MQB Evo platform. The same chassis is used, for example, by the eighth generation Golf hatchback. The length of the machine is 4784 millimeters. Thus, in terms of overall dimensions, Lamando is inferior to the Arteon liftback.
So far, the novelty has received a non-alternative 1.4-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 150 horsepower. The unit works in conjunction with a seven-speed “robot”. In the future, the range of car engines will be expanded.
