Kia’s flagship sedan will receive a large 14.5-inch multimedia display and a fingerprint sensor for driver identification.
Kia has published the first photos of the interior of the updated flagship K9 sedan, the pre-styling version of which is sold in Russia under the name K900. Judging by the pictures, the model will receive a significantly modernized interior with some solutions borrowed from premium Genesis cars (Hyundai subbrand).
As before, the updated Kia K9 will have a 12.3-inch virtual instrument cluster to the right of which there will be an enlarged 14.5-inch rectangular multimedia display in the style of new Genesis cars.
In addition, a fingerprint sensor identification system will be provided for Kia’s flagship model. For example, by recognizing the driver, the electronics will be able to automatically set the preferred seat position, adjust the climate control settings and the digital dashboard interface.
Infotainment service packs will be downloaded automatically from cloud storage. Plus, some of the functions of the large sedan can be controlled remotely using a smartphone. Finally, Kia noted that the flagship model received improved noise insulation and additional options for personalizing the interior.
The full premiere of the updated Kia K9 will take place on Thursday, June 3, in South Korea, where it will go on sale immediately. The model will reach other markets later.
