Rental Jaguar in Baku

The British-made electric car has climbed to an imaginary height of 8,848 meters on the highest road in England.

Jaguar arranged an unusual experiment with which the British showed the capabilities of the I-Pace electric crossover. The car made a series of descents and ascents on a mountain road, gaining a total height of 8,848 meters.

A similar exercise called “Everesting” is popular with cyclists who repeatedly climb and descend from the hill, so that in total they gain an altitude corresponding to the highest point on Earth – Mount Everest in the Himalayas.

The experiment took place on Mount Great Dan Fell, where the tallest paved road in England is located. Cyclists call it “British Mont Ventoux” because of its resemblance to the extremely challenging alpine stage of the Tour de France.

The capabilities of the electric crossover were tested by Olympic cycling champion Eleanor Barker, who made 16 climbs with a total length of 5800 meters. At the same time, to replenish energy during descents, a kinetic energy recovery system was used during braking.

In total, the Jaguar I-Pace covered 199.6 km, reaching an imaginary vertical height of 8,848 meters. At the same time, the crossover batteries retained 31% of the charge, which would be enough for another 128 km.

The Jaguar I-Pace is equipped with two electric units that produce 400 hp in total. and 696 Nm of torque. The car can accelerate to 100 km / h in 4.8 seconds, and its top speed is 200 km / h. The motors are powered by a set of 90 kWh lithium-ion batteries that provide a range of 470 kilometers.
