The operational headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers decided to gradually cancel the requirement to obtain special permits for visiting our country by citizens of a number of countries with a stable epidemiological situation.
The solution reads:
“As you know, one of the measures taken to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan is permission for foreign citizens to enter the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan only with special permission from the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers.
As a result of large-scale measures taken over the past year, including the successful vaccination program launched in January 2021, the epidemiological situation in Azerbaijan has improved, and a number of restrictions introduced under the special quarantine regime have been lifted.
At the same time, the epidemiological situation in several countries of the world is stabilizing and, as a result of consistent vaccination measures, the number of infections in these countries is under control.
In this regard, the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan decided to gradually cancel the requirement to issue special permits for citizens of a number of countries with a stable epidemiological situation, such as Azerbaijan, to visit our country.
Thus, taking into account the positive dynamics of the epidemiological situation, from June 10, citizens of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Turkey will be able to travel to Azerbaijan by air, subject to the following conditions:
- Providing an official document of the relevant country (COVID passport) on full vaccination or recovery from COVID-19 for passengers over 18 years old and an official document confirming a negative PCR test for COVID-19 within 72 hours before the flight;
- Providing an official document confirming a negative PCR test for COVID-19 for passengers aged 1 to 18 within 72 hours before departure.
At the same time, from June 10, the validity period of an official document confirming a negative result of a PCR test for COVID-19 for all passengers over 1 year old to enter Azerbaijan will be increased from 48 to 72 hours before departure. COVID passports and PCR test results are not required for children under 1 year of age.
All airlines operating direct flights to the Republic of Azerbaijan must check in only passengers who meet the relevant requirements. Passengers who do not meet the requirements for crossing the border when entering the territory of Azerbaijan are not allowed to enter the country and return by plane at the expense of the carrier.
In the near future, based on the epidemiological situation and the level of vaccination of the population, the issue of restoring the access of citizens of other countries to the Republic of Azerbaijan by air is being considered.
