Aston Martin has unveiled the V12 Vantage supercar, the most powerful and fastest variant ever. In addition, the novelty was the last car of the British brand, which used a 12-cylinder power unit.
Under the hood of the coupe is a 5.2-liter twin-turbo Mercedes-AMG engine that develops 700 hp. and 753 Nm of torque. The engine, working together with an eight-speed ZF “automatic”, allows the car to accelerate from standstill to 60 miles per hour (96 km / h) in 3.4 seconds. The maximum speed of the supercar was 322 km per hour.
The power-to-weight ratio was 390 hp. by one ton, which is 20% more than the indicator of the “junior” modification of the model – V8 Vantage, equipped with a 510-horsepower “eight”.
To reduce weight, engineers used a number of composite materials in the design, including the hood, bumpers and front fenders. In addition, the V12 Vantage received a stainless steel exhaust system, a lightweight battery and carbon-ceramic brakes.
In addition, a special aerodynamic body kit with a massive rear wing capable of downforce of 204 kg at maximum speed was developed for the supercar.
The circulation of the new Aston Martin V12 Vantage will be limited to 333 copies. The first cars, the cost of which is not called, will reach buyers by mid-2022.
